The Petite Academy | Ages 3–4
Our Petite Academy 3–4s Division is a joyful introduction to the world of dance for our youngest students. Designed especially for curious, imaginative movers, these classes foster creativity, coordination, and confidence in a nurturing, play-based environment.
Class sessions are 1 hour in length and may be taken individually or paired for a more well-rounded experience. Dancers will have the opportunity to participate in two seasonal performances—one in December and one in May. Each class will present its own age-appropriate piece, with performance participation left entirely up to each family’s comfort.
Class Options
3–4s Ballet
This sweet and imaginative class introduces young dancers to the foundational movements of ballet through creative play, music, and age-appropriate technique. Alongside developing balance, posture, and coordination, students practice important social-emotional skills such as taking turns, sharing space, and working together kindly.
Classes are thoughtfully grouped based on developmental readiness, ensuring each child is supported at their own pace. Dancers will take part in our Spring Performance with a class-specific piece created just for them.
3–4s Jazz
Full of energy and fun, our Jazz class for ages 3–4 combines upbeat music with playful movement to help little dancers explore rhythm, musicality, and coordination. Students practice gross motor skills, movement patterns, and sequencing—all while building confidence and joy in expressing themselves through dance.
This class will be featured in the Spring Performance with choreography tailored to this age group’s abilities and excitement.
3–4s Acro
Perfect for your little tumbler! This introductory Acro class gives young dancers the chance to jump, roll, stretch, and flip in a safe, supportive space. With mats and guidance from caring instructors, students build balance, flexibility, and body awareness while having a ton of fun.
This is a non-performing class, allowing students to focus purely on skill-building and movement exploration.
